Remember these photos of my time at the National Portrait Gallery? That day is when I first met the talented designer Chris Cardi.
I had been eying his collection on Instagram and was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from him a few weeks after. I met with him at the Portrait Gallery to catch the last day of the American Cool exhibit. We toured the gallery and discussed his upcoming Fall/Winter collection.
His collection focuses on simplicity and versatility. In speaking with him, his goal is to provide pieces that can be worn in many different ways by many different types of people. All the pieces that I have seen from him so far fit this goal perfectly. He creates clean, versatile pieces that I can envision being styled in so many different ways.
This crop top is the perfect transitional piece. Aside from it being great for the chilly mornings, warm afternoons, and cold nights of DC, it is also versatile enough to be used in many different outfits.
This top personifies his aesthetic completely. I was able to pair it with high-waisted pants and booties for a casual look, but it also worked perfectly with bright jeans, sneaks, and a 5-panel for a edgy, cool street wear look.
I’m already planning many more Fall/Winter outfits involving this top. Make sure to check out Chris Cardi’s site HERE.
Stay tuned for more from this super talented local designer!
