It’s at this time, the last few days of summer, which I always want to speed up time and bring autumn along.
I have always loved cooler temperatures. Dressing in layers, warm drinks, and COATS! are the primary reason for my affinity with the fall and winter. During this time of transition, you always have to be prepared for spontaneous changes in weather. Especially in DC! You wake up & it is 50s outside, but when you walk outside to grab lunch you can be walking into sunny 80 degrees.
This is where key layers come in handy. Choose enough layers to keep you as warm as possible while still being easy to take off when the temps spike. Also, layer up the part of you that gets colder quicker. My arms and hands tend to get colder quicker & so I try to layer that part of my body more.
About this look:
This skirt was a TJ Maxx clearance find. I loved the soft color & knew it would be a perfect transition piece. Add a plain tank, chambray shirt, and jean jacket for the warmth needed on those chilly mornings.
XO.
