There’s nothing more wonderful than sharing a love of a city with fellow creatives. The DC creative scene spans everywhere from painters, writers, musicians, designers, and fashion lovers. And it’s been great getting acclimated to and meeting everyone from these walks of lives in the last few months.
We had the opportunity to go to and shoot some photos of Nomad Yard Collectiv. Nomad Yard is first and foremost the dopest vintage shop in town. It houses items from times past and gives them renewed life. I love the eclectic vibes of the store and the styling of the items is on point. When I first walked in there, I was immediately struck by the color palette. Earthy tones surrounded by hints of bright patterns and the most gorgeous furniture encase every room of the store.
What I love most about Nomad Yard is that it’s a collective. They have around 14 artists all showcasing their product in this one building. But you would never know that there are so many different artists with the way the items are styled and showcased. There are no separate signs for each brand, or different sections of the store dedicated to just one artist. All items are placed together just as a collective should.
I left Nomad with so much inspiration and joy at the great job they are doing bringing together all these artists into one home. If you’re ever on New York Avenue, Union Market or Ivy City, make sure to take an hour or so and visit Desiree and the folks over at Nomad Yard. And make sure to support local DC spots always!
Thanks for having us, Nomad!
XO.
